Our very own Keith Crouch will be in NYC on September 16 to present at the Institute for Private Capital’s 2022 Active Management Research Alliance (AMRA) Research Symposium: ESG in Private Markets. Supported by the Institute for Private Capital, AMRA is multi-university initiative promoting research on active portfolio management strategies and alternative investments. This symposium will convene leading scholars and industry professionals to discuss unique challenges and opportunities related to ESG issues in alternative investments. Research sessions will present new findings from leading academics on the topics of "Institutional Investors and the Environment" and "ESG and the Cost of Capital”.

In his panel, Keith will discuss how challenging it is for institutional investors to access transparent and accurate ESG metrics for their private asset portfolios. With many investors making net-zero commitments, the importance of understanding their portfolio’s carbon footprint is a critical first step—yet one that remains mostly unanswered. In this session, Keith along with other industry experts will examine the efforts to better measure ESG factors in alternatives, how investors are working around the current limitations, and what will be needed to bring metrics for alternatives up to the standard for public companies.
